Vocabulary related to a dwelling in phraseological units and paroemias of the Udmurt language

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article considers phraseological and paremiological units of the Udmurt language with components related to the thematic group “dwelling”.
Objective: to identify the lexical and semantic features of the Udmurt phraseological units and paremias, in which lexemes related to a dwelling act as constituent elements.
Research materials: phraseological and paremiological units extracted from dictionaries and scientific publications on the phraseology of the Udmurt language.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time, in the work phraseological units and paroemias with components included in the thematic group “dwelling” are investigated in the linguistic and cultural aspect on the material of the Udmurt language; their semantic functions and phraseological activity are revealed. The study found that the names of dwellings and their structural elements are widely represented in Udmurt phraseology and paremiology. The most common stable units content the following components: korka ‘house; hut’, gur ‘oven’, ӧs ‘door’, džӧk ‘table’, jurt ‘house; hut; dwelling, bord ‘wall’, lipet ‘roof’. The vocabulary denoting the yard and outbuildings is represented to a lesser extent. Among the most common elements is the word kener ‘hedge, fence’. The issues of variation of phraseological and paremiological units are considered. It is revealed that lexical and quantitative types of variation are the most productive. Syntactic and morphological variants of the phraseological units are less common. A number of phraseological units and paroemias, which are tracing papers from the Russian language, have been found in the Udmurt. It is established that there is a number of phraseological units and paroemias, which are the calculus from the Russian language in the Udmurt lexical fund.
