About the genre nature of a historical song: Russian-Erzya context

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article gives the notion of the Erzya historical song as an epic genre, which replaced the heroic-mythological and epic-heroic songs telling about origin of the world, man and Erzya state system. The most important features of its poetics and aesthetics, plot and thematic cycles and genre groups of songs with their most important characters are considered.
Objective: to reveal the genre specifics of Erzya and Russian historical songs, based on modern scientific and historical ideas.
Research materials: lyrics of historical songs of the XVI–XVIII centuries, archival and published materials.
Results and novelty of the research: the notion of the Erzya historical song, the originality of its consciousness, space and time compared with the consciousness, space and time of the heroic song is revealed; the connection of the plots of historical songs with concrete historical events and persons is revealed; poetic and thematic community of Erzya historical songs with Russian historical songs is ascertained. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in Russian literary criticism it has been
established that the consciousness, space and time of the heroic song have no historical concretization, but the consciousness, space and time of the historical song are historically determined.
