The archeological researches in the lower reaches of the Konda River: results of 2017 season

Abstract. Introduction: the article presents the results of the archaeological researches conducted in 2017 in the lower reaches of the Konda River. The expedition was conducted within the scientific project aimed to studying of processes of settling and development of the Lower Irtysh Region by ancient societies. In spite of the fact that the
first mentions about monuments of archeology are contained in archival sources of the XIX–XX centuries, the most part of natural boundaries of the Lower Konda wasn’t explored by archeologists until the present. Objective: to get modern geospatial data on archaeological monuments of the Lower Konda necessary for creation of the cultural and chronological scheme of development of the Lower Irtysh Region. Research materials: the materials of the historical, archival and previous archaeological researches had been considered during planning of the expedition routes; the complex cartographical and spatial analysis of data on an arrangement of the known objects of cultural heritage was carried out. Five natural boundaries were examined in the process of exploration located near the former settlements – Bogdanovsky, Siglinsky, Pugolsky yurts; eighteen objects of archeology were revealed and mapped; topographic and geodesic shooting on the territory of monuments was carried out; sources for their cultural and chronological attribution were received.Results and novelty of the research: in the lower reaches of the Konda the new archaeological micro-district including more than ten monuments was detected; it was established that development of this territory by ancient communities began in the Neolithic and the most active settling occurred in the Bronze Age.
