Autonomous children’s speech in the Mansi language: semantic and phonemic features

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the autonomous speech of the Mansi language used by adults when communicating with young children. The paper presents a systematic analysis of children’s vocabulary, examines phonetic patterns and morphological
mechanisms involved in the formation of word forms. The author’s collected corpus of children’s vocabulary (babbling, onomatopoeic, and interjective words) is used as an empirical base.
Objective: to identify the features of semantics and functioning of lexical units of children’s vocabulary.
Research materials: personal observations of the author, published folklore works, linguistic dictionaries and a textbook on the Mansi language.
Results and novelty of the research: in this paper, the autonomous speech of the Mansi language is analyzed for the first time as an independent field of study. As part of the study, its key linguistic characteristics were identified and systematized, and a classification
of lexical units according to semantic and morphological criteria was proposed. The vocabulary used by adults when communicating with young children has been selected and analyzed, and its specific features have been identified. In addition, the features of the sound
organization of this form of speech have been investigated and its phonetic patterns have been established.
