Abstract. This article deals with the specifi cs of modern development of the literary space of Mordovia in view of the multicultural situation in the region, the general characteristics of the periods of literature development and their infl uence on modern literary process of the Republic are presented in the article. Proposed observations are formulated to the concept of studying of the modern literary code of Mordovia as unity of its different ethnical components.
