Creative work of Matrena Pankratyevna Vakhrusheva in context of the history of Mansi literature

Abstract. The history of Mansi literature, as well as many other literatures of people of the North, originates in the first half of the 20th century. Tasks of the national literatures were global. Literature had an educational character, carried knowledge, told to indigenous people about the advantages of a new life and also actively participated in the formation of the literary language.
First published literary experiences in Mansi literature were dated – P. Cheymetov in 1940; M.P. Vakhrusheva – 1941 and 1949; M. Kazantsev – 1949; P. Cheymetov and M. Kazantsev are the authors of the first stories, M. Vakhrusheva is the author of the first novel. Her novel «On shore of Small Yukonda» (1949) is a new level in the development of Mansi literature. Art structure of the work was different from the creative principles of P. Cheymetov and M. Kazantsev. The plot of the story was built in accordance with traditions of «song-destiny», «song-biography», that is the work of M.P. Vakhrusheva is based on national traditions.
