ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the development of national types of sports among schoolchildren among the indigenous peoples of the North, who study and live during the school year in boarding schools of the Khanty- Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.
Objective: to identify the factors contributing to development of national types of sports as part of after-hour activities in educational institutions with boarding schools.
Research materials: sociological data obtained during a survey in 2023 among schoolchildren in educational institutions with boarding schools in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, and electronic resources.
Results and novelty of the research: based on the materials of the sociological research, it was revealed that the content of the existing after-hour activities programs provides for a physical culture and sports direction, in which national types of sports are popular among schoolchildren students of all groups. It is concluded that development of national types of sports in educational institutions with boarding schools depends on a number of factors. The main factors of development of national types of sports are the sports facilities of educational institutions associated with the general trend towards the
popularization of ethnical sports in the region, the consistent transfer of experience and the systematic involvement of schoolchildren in the sports environment, in particular in multidiscipline northern competitions. For the first time, using the methods of sociological survey of schoolchildren and content analysis, such factors as continuity, consistency, organizational and pedagogical conditions that determine the environment for development of national types of sports in educational organizations with boarding schools are described.
