ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article contains observations over the formal and substantial parties of creativity of the modern Khanty artist G. S. Rayshev. The analysis is given from positions of philosophical and esthetic conceptions of XX century.
Objective: to reveal on ethnic material an originality of the esthetic position of G. S. Rayshev in aspect of modernist conceptions of art.
Research materials: the philosophical conceptions of art related to the notion of «ideal reality», theoretical researches on art of the Ob Ugrians, problems of the modern art are studied. Art criticism and critical literature on G. Rayshev’s creativity, pictures and reproductions of his works, catalogs of exhibitions of the artist are used.
Results and novelty of the research: consideration of creativity of G. S. Rayshev in aspect of philosophical and esthetic conceptions gives the chance to reveal an originality of works of the artist and at the same time to delve into a wider range of problems related to questions of communication of art with reality. The scientific novelty of the article is in the chosen aspect of the analysis of the artist’s works: definition of ways of the embodiment of «ideal reality»
 in creative practice of G. Rayshev on the basis of «convergence» of basic provisions of modernist conceptions of art with an esthetic position of the artist. It is implemented at the substantive level with the involvement of traditional ethnic conceptions. Correlation of conceptions of symbolization of reality with early worldview constructs preserved in the system of traditional cultures shows a possibility of philosophical understanding of the world on the basis of the established ethnic constructs.
