From the Ilim to the Kazym: to the question of the name of one Khanty game with sticks

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the actual topic in ethnology – the game culture as a concrete historical phenomenon, caused by ethno-cultural factors, intercultural interactions, and having its own characteristics among different local ethnic groups.
Objective: to explain origin and the name of Khanty game Vǒn hot «A Big House» (the Kazym Kasnty) based on the typology of water transport, as well as the development of intercultural interaction of the Ugric, Samoyed and Russian people of Siberia.
Research materials: the article is based on the published ethnographic literature on the Ob Ugrians, historical and ethnographic research on transport vehicle of the the Yenisei Kets, as well as oral reports of informants.
Results and novelty of the research: the article presents a description of variants of the game Vǒn hot, as well as it argues the connection between the name and construction of game equipment with a boat-ilimka of the Yenisei Kets. It can be justified by existence of a waterway between Western and Eastern Siberia. The article expands the idea of a game as one of amazing cultural phenomena that promote the orientation of a person in the world. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that the traditional game is considered as a historical and ethnographic source and has not earlier been the subject of scientific research in this key.
