Abstract. In the creative work of Khanty poets G.D. Lazarev, M.I. Shulgin, V.S. Voldin, R.P. Rugin, M.K. Vagatova the image of the sun is more strongly pronounced. In the poems of the poets there are only positive characteristics of the sun, that is partly due to the climatic conditions where the northern ethnic group resides. The sun is perceived as source of happiness, life, warmth, spiritual strength fi nding. The image of the sun keeps the features dating back to the ancient culture, hence the anthropomorphism of the image (smile, plaits, beard, hands and so on.). The sun refl ects the spatial and temporal characteristics in the lyrics of Khanty poets.
