The linguistic representation of the basic emotions ‘joy’, ‘sadness’ in the Mansi language picture of the world (on the material of the somatic phraseological units)

Abstract:The article considers the linguistic representation of the basic emotions of joy and sadness in the Mansi language picture of the world on the material of the somatic phraseological units. The purpose of the article is description of expression of these emotions through the verbal means. The relevance of the article is defined by the fact that the linguistic representation of emotions till present time has not been the object of special study in Mansi language through the somatic phraseology. The study demonstrated that by means of somatic vocabulary in Mansi language both the internal emotional and external expressions are represented. It was found that the range of emotions of joy and sadness in Mansi linguistic culture is quite extensive and is marked by national specificity. The most productive frequency somatic component sym ‘heart’ was found in the basis of the formation of somatic phraseological units denoting emotions of joy and sadness.
