The meaning of new chapters in the novel by E. D. Aypin “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows” of the 2010 edition

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the work of the Khanty prose writer E. D. Aypin. The subject of the study is the new chapters of the novel “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows” by the publishing house “Amphora” of the 2010 edition.
Objective: to analyze the meaning of the inserted chapters (9, 12) in the context of the work “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows”, of the 2010 edition.
Research materials: the novel by E. D. Aypin “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows” of the 2002 edition (publishing house “PAKRUS”) and of the 2010 edition (publishing house “Amphora”).
Results and novelty of the research: the study is a continuation of our already existing experience of understanding the author’s intentional change of the text of the novel “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows”. This article is the first attempt to identify the meaning of the new two chapters inserted by E. D. Aypin in the novel of the 2010 edition.When comparing the two editions of the literary text “The Mother of God in the Bloody Snows”, it became obvious that the texts differ not only in style and punctuation, but also in volume. The later version of the novel is supplemented with two chapters – the ninth and twelfth. The edition of the 2002 consists of 24 chapters, and the version of the 2010 consists of 26 chapters. The chapters in the new version of the literary text deepen the tragedy of the Kazym Rebellion and expand the space of the atrocities of the Reds. The ninth chapter reveals in detail the image of the red commander, the image of the shaman. Attention is paid to the image of the kayur. The author introduces the story of Kirill Moldanov’s family into the canvas of the novel. The meeting with the Reds changed the fate of the hero’s family. According to the author's idea, the owner of the chum predicts the fate of Vladimir Chukhnovsky. In the twelfth chapter, the author debunks the myth of elusive warriors; states the hopelessness of the situation of the Mother of Children; introduces a character – the author of fanatical methods of torture of the rebels. New chapters supplement the narrative with details that were previously absent in the text of the novel. The chapters are harmoniously inscribed by the author into the general outline of the literary text. They do not violate the composition of the novel, complement and concretize the previously formed figurative system of the heroes of the work. The analysis of the transformation of the novel’s text of the 2020 edition allows us to observe the stages of artistic work reflecting the continuous movement of the author’s idea.
