The results of the research of the reader’s interests of schoolchildren among the indigenous people of Yugra

ABSTRACT
Introduction: many teachers associate the decrease in schoolchildren’s interest in reading, its quality and the level of reading culture with the widespread use of the Internet, which changes the structure of youth leisure and has an impact on the development of the emotional and intellectual sphere of the person; the article presents the results of a survey of Yugra schoolchildren to identify attitudes to the Internet and reader’s preferences of schoolchildren among the indigenous people of the North.
Objective: to identify the reader’s interests of schoolchildren among the indigenous people. In the process of processing of the results, we solved several tasks, including changes in the leisure practice of schoolchildren, peculiarities of using of the Internet and the role of literature lessons in the forming of the reading culture of schoolchildren in different age groups.
Research materials: the results of a survey of schoolchildren of 5–11 grades; the survey was conducted in March-April 2017. 587

Results and scientific novelty: the most common leisure practices of teenagers and the attitude of schoolchildren to reading, preference for literary genres, the influence of educational overload on the reduction of interest in reading books are revealed; a comparative analysis on age and gender characteristics is given, as well as differences and specificity of the attitude to the Internet and the choice of literary works among schoolchildren among the indigenous people of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. Key words: survey, respondents, reading, interest, gender differences, age differences.
