Structural-semantic analysis of Mansi good wishes

ABSTRACT
Introduction: good wishes accompany people from the birth. There is no significant event without their participation in life. They reflect traditional and modern views about family and social life. They are intended to create psychological comfort on the process of communication. The relevance of the article is in the fact that the theme of good wishes as an independent genre in Ob-Ugric folklore had never been considered, only in rare cases good wishes were used by scientists as examples. The objects of the research are good wishes of the Mansi language.
Objective: to systematize Mansi good wishes with regard to their thematic, artistic content, and functionality; to reveal their peculiarity and diversity. In accordance with the objectives the following tasks were determined:
– to determine the structure of good wishes of the Mansi literary language;
– to identify functions of the components of good wishes;
– to identify the main structural and semantic types of good wishes of modern Mansi language.
Research materials: the objects of the research are the texts of Mansi good wishes in the language of original and in translation, published in various folklore collections, periodical press, and field material of the author. The work is based on methods of discourse analysis, contextual and cognitive analysis, by the method of continuous sampling.
Results and novelty of the research: the research supplements scientific knowledge about folklore of the Mansi. In the article on the basis of folklore, linguistic and literary data a generalized analysis of good wishes presents. In the traditional culture of Mansi good wishes are systematized by thematic focus and addressing, by their structure; song and prayers-good wishes accompaning certain ritual actions are distinguished.
