Symbolism of flowers in Khanty lyrics

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the actual problem of symbolism of the image in the conditions of modern Finno-Ugric literary criticism. The subject of the analysis is the symbolism of flowers in the works of Khanty poets.
Objective: to reveal the symbolism of flowers as a component of floral poetics in the Khanty lyrics.
Research materials: works by M. I. Novyukhov, included in the book «With the hope of happiness» (2012) and M. I. Shulgin from the book «Mavi As Honey Ob» (2009), as well as some poems by V. S. Voldin, R. P. Rugin, M. K. Vagatova, L. Y. Shulgina.
Results and novelty of the research: the paper first analyzed the floral imagery of the lyrics of the Khanty lyrics as an important component of the image system and floral poeticsfloral poetics Khanty literature. The focus of attention were works with the nomination «flower», «rose», «violet», «daisy», «cornflower», «dahlia», «cherry», «lilac», as well as «mint» and «nettle» of six Khanty poets. The study showed that the floral dictionary by M. I. Novyukhov is one of the most valued in the Khanty poetry; the floral imagery in the Khanty lyrics associated with the development of topics such as the nature of the poet and poetry, love and friendly motives, the motif of memory; flowers have become part of philosophical reflections on life and death. Flowers are associated with the image of the beloved, the aesthetics of beauty in Khanty poetry. The floral imagery of Khanty lyrics is complemented by olfactor and color codes, shows a living connection with folk culture and world literature.
