The variety of semantic phenomena of the concept shÿm ‘heart’ in Mari phraseology

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Mari phraseological fund is a rich conceptual linguistic space that has a wide range of cultural values. It reflects the national peculiarity, traditions and flavor. The article is devoted to the research of realization of the key meanings of the lexeme shÿm ‘heart’ in the formation of one of basic concepts in Mari phraseological units.
Objective: to identify the semantic features of realization of the concept of shÿm ‘heart’ in Mari phraseology.
Research materials: Mari phraseological units with a somatic component.
Results and novelty of the research: the lexeme heart, being a core component in the structure of Mari phraseological units, directly affects the internal form of phraseology and reflects its main meanings in the conceptual component of the analyzing concept. Classified on the basis of the proximity of their figurative component certain groups of phraseological units with the component heart present a multifaceted characteristic of the concept of heart in Mari phraseology. As a result of the analysis it was revealed that the main definitions of somatism heart are the central circulatory organ; a symbol of the
concentration of feelings, experiences or moods; a symbol of kindness, love; the ability of perception and internal reaction; the center and the most important place of something. These definitions are reflected in the studied conceptual field. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that realization of the concept of heart in Mari phraseology is considered on the basis of verbalization of the meanings of the key somatic lexeme shÿm ‘heart’ for the first time.
