ABSTRACT
Introduction: the relevance of the theme is due to the new approaches to the historical source. In accordance with the anthropological turn in historical research, the traditional ideas about the source as an information resource are supplemented and even replaced by the understanding of the source as a historical and cultural phenomenon. In this way, source studies, which has been dealing with a source-resource for a long time, faces the problem of its relevant description.
Objective: analysis of student dictations in the context of the problem of accounting for didactic texts as the historical source.
Research materials: dictations of students in the Khanty language, documents of the Khanty-Mansiysk Pedagogical College, memories of graduates, educational and children’s literature.
Results and novelty of the research: the study made it possible to show dictations, on the one hand, as the material, on the other hand, as the written source, defining them not as the information resource, but as a historical and cultural phenomenon. The question of taking didactic texts into account in source classifications is raised, external and internal criticism of the source is given. Dictations are presented as a fragment of educational life, a procedure, disciplinary practice, communication in their material form, as a text, and finally as an integral part of Soviet educational, children’s and northern discourses. Didactic literature is being studied in this way for the first time. Observations and conclusions of the work can be used in the study of source studies, in historical and anthropological studies of the history of a national school of the North.
Key words: historical source as the information resource and historical and cultural phenomenon, dictations as the source, criticism of the source, fragment of educational life, disciplinary practice, communication, text, discourse
