ABSTRACT
Introduction: a large number of reflexives function in Komi spontaneous speech, which have not been described in theoretical terms up to the present time and require a comprehensive consideration. This work is devoted to the analysis of the emergence of these constructions, the definition and description of their main functions in the process of speech production.
Objective: to identify and describe pragmatemes-reflexives occurring in Komi spontaneous speech.
Research materials: spontaneous Komi speech from Komi-language television and radio programs aired in 2016–2025, transcripts of recordings of real oral speech, representing everyday spontaneous conversations of native speakers in their usual circumstances.
Results and novelty of the research: the article for the first time analyzes in detail the reflexives found in Komi spontaneous speech, describes the specifics of their functioning. Analysis of empirical material showed that the described speech constructions arise in the process
of speech production as a reaction of the communicant to the search he has carried out, a kind of assessment of the correspondence of the selected nomination to his original intention. It has been established that the addresser uses these speech units in the following cases: uncertainty in the reliability of the information he verbalizes; distancing himself from what he has already said or is just about to say; removing himself responsibility for the accuracy of what he has said.
Key words: Komi language, spontaneous speech, communicant, pragmaticalization, pragmatemes, reflexives
