ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the description of the linguistic peculiarities of the first edition of folklore texts in the Komi language prepared by the famous Komi local historian, linguist, founder of the museum and archival work in the Komi region, the first historian and figure in the field of Komi national policy – A. A. Tsember. The collection of folklore texts “Komi Moydan Kyvyas” (Komi fairy tales) is of great importance. It presents original fairy–tale texts – a set of samples of living Komi speech, in which dialect and vernacular forms of the language are preserved.
Objective: to reveal the features of the Komi language of fairy-tale prose based on materials recorded by A. A. Tsember; to describe the peculiarities of using the Komi language of fairy tales, as well as expressive and dialect features.
Research materials: folklore collection of A. A. Tsember (1913).
Results and novelty of the research: in the study, for the first time, a comprehensive linguistic analysis of the unexplored fairy tales of A. A. Tsember. These fairy tales reflect the main possibilities of transmitting oral utterances by narrators, preserve the vocabulary in its diversity, don’t violate the phonetic and grammatical peculiarities of the Komi language, and reflect the richness of the Komi language. The article defines graphic, spelling, lexical and semantic, pictorial and other specific features of the fairy tales recorded by A. A. Tsember. The works are distinguished by the expression, emotions of the narrator, expressed by interjections, pictorial and onomatopoeic verbs, comparative constructions, repeats of linguistic elements, etc.
